This year sees the tenth anniversary of the International Conference on Bio-based Materials. The event will take place in Cologne, Germany on May 10-11. Save the date!
At this tenth edition of nova-Institute’s International Conference on Bio-based Materials, the spotlight will be on bio-based building blocks and platform chemicals – the fundaments of the bioeconomy.
Production capacity in this area, which has tended to attract the bulk of investment in the bioeconomy, shows double-digit annual growth. This has led to confident predictions that new building blocks, new bio-based polymers, coatings, surfactants will continue to make their appearance. “For the conference, we were able to get the ten leading companies worldwide to Cologne – a unique opportunity to meet the pioneers in the field at one place”, said Michael Carus, Managing Director of nova-Institute. Head over to www.bio-based-conference.com/programme for a look at the preliminary line-up of speakers at the conference.
Next to presenting the latest market data and policy trends, the Bio-based Materials Conference traditionally also provides a venue for promising technologies and innovative ideas. In that light, the start-up session will give center stage to young companies, offering networking and cooperation opportunities and connecting them with potential partners from industry and finance. Several start-ups will show their latest development and are looking for industrial partners. Start-ups wishing to participate can still send a document presenting their product, process, used feedstock and target markets to firstname.lastname@example.org and highlight the real innovation and the benefits of the product/technology.
At the conference, the prestigious “Bio-based Material of the Year 2017″ innovation award will also be awarded for the tenth time. The advisory board will make a preselection of all applications and narrow the field down to a “Top 6” shortlist of new materials and products. The final decision will be made by the conference participants after each of the nominees has pitched their innovations to the conference attendees. Applications are still open until end of February www.bio-based-conference.com/award.
