A lot of information from the conference this time... bio!PAC 2019 Düsseldorf represents the highest level of such a kind of conference in the bioplastic packaging industry at present ...
Thank you very much for including us in such an excellent event last week.
Congratulations for a wonderful conference on Bioplastics.
Everything was well organized and useful.
Packaging is necessary for:
» protection during transport and storage
» prevention of product losses
» increasing shelf life
» sharing product information and marketing
BUT :
Packaging does not necessarily need to be made from petroleum based plastics. Most packaging have a short life and therefore give rise to large quantities of waste. Accordingly, it is vital to use the most suitable raw materials and implement good ‘end-of-life’ solutions. Biobased and compostable materials have a key role to play in this respect.
Biobased packaging
» can be recyclable and/or compostable
» fits into the circular economy of the future
» is made from renewable resources or waste streams
» can offer environmental benefits in the end-of-life phase
» can offer innovative features and beneficial barrier properties
» can help to reduce the depletion of finite fossil resources and CO2 emissions
That‘s why bioplastics MAGAZINE (in cooperation with Green Serendipity is now organizing the 3rd edition of bio!PAC - conference on packaging made from biobased materials, i.e. from renewable resources.
Experts from all areas of biobased materials will present their latest developments. The conference will not only cover biobased materials and application examples from suppliers and brand owners. Different disposal options (end-of-life scenarios) will also be discussed as well as the availability of agricultural land for material use versus food and feed.
The full 2-day conference will be held on the 28th and 29th of May 2019 in Düsseldorf, Germany .
