Due to the Corona pandemic, the 6th PLA World Congress was held strictly virtual on 07-08 October 2020.
PLA is one of the bioplastics with the largest market significance. The versatile bioplastics raw material is made almost completely from renewable resources. It is being used for packaging applications, for fibres in woven and non-woven applications. Even the automotive industry and consumer electronics are already applying PLA. Blending PLA with other bioplastics or other blend-partners as well as mixing it with natural fibres such as flax, hemp or kenaf broadens the range of applications even more.
That‘s why bioplastics MAGAZINE is now organizing the 6th PLA World Congress.
Experts from all involved fields will share their knowledge and contribute to a comprehensive overview of today‘s opportunities and challenges and discuss the possibilities, limitations and future prospects of PLA for all kind of applications.
The 2 full-day-conference was held on the 07th and 08th of October 2020 in form of a webinar.
(Programme was modified, in order to accomodate for the time zones of the speakers - status: October 5th))

The newly rising number of COVID-19 infections as well as travel restrictions in many countries have forced us to move our physical event – the 6th PLA World Congress scheduled to take place in Munich, Germany in October – online.
Rather than hosting the conference in Munich, we are inviting you to attend our event virtually. We are organising the conference with a slightly modified agenda, designed to be delivered digitally and taking into account the different time zones of the speakers.
ZOOM is likely to be the virtual conference platform chosen. The format will include live Q&A sessions, using a chat function.
All the presentations will be recorded and available for convenient watching ‘on demand’ for a full week after the event. The speakers will then respond to all questions via e-mail in a timely manner.
Your benefits:
Obviously, attending a live-streamed virtual conference offers a different kind of experience than a full in-person event. We understand that. But we’re going to innovate this year, and we need your support.
We’ve adjusted the price of the conference, from €899.00 to €499.00.
We are very excited to welcome you to the first-ever virtual PLA World Congress, 7-8 October. We think the format opens up exciting new perspectives and opportunities - and we are looking forward to your participation and to connecting with you.
Of course, a physical conference offers the best networking opportunities.
However, since this is not possible this year, we try the Whova App to offer some networking opportunities.
In your web-browser you can access whova via this link:https://whova.com/portal/webapp/pwc_202010/

We are as sad as you are that the "Bavarian Night" in a famous Munich Beerhouse will be postponed to May 2022.
Then we'll again enjoy Bavarian beer and food specialties.
