nova-Institute to organize International Conference on Bio-based Materials for tenth time

At this tenth edition of nova-Institute’s International Conference on Bio-based Materials, the spotlight will be on bio-based building blocks and platform chemicals – the fundaments of the bioeconomy.
Production capacity in this area, which has tended to attract the bulk of investment in the bioeconomy, shows double-digit annual growth. This has led to confident predictions that new building blocks, new bio-based polymers, coatings, surfactants will continue to make their appearance. “For the conference, we were able to get the ten leading companies worldwide to Cologne – a unique opportunity to meet the pioneers in the field at one place”, said Michael Carus, Managing Director of nova-Institute. At the conference, the prestigious “Bio-based Material of the Year 2017″ innovation award will also be awarded for the tenth time. The advisory board will make a preselection of all applications and narrow the field down to a “Top 6” shortlist of new materials and products. The final decision will be made by the conference participants after each of the nominees has pitched their innovations to the conference attendees.
